Edited by: Alexi Kalashnikov on 04/08/2006 18:42:11 Everyone will have their own view of the Goons, but each view is manipulated by the present scene of political events. The fact of the matter is that Goons are who we are, to deny that is to deny our very existance. Our enemies have put us down at every chance they have gotten, because nobody likes a new guy in the neighbourhood: especially one such as the Goons who can become the next EVE powerhouse. Now before you flame me on this, look at a few things:
1 - We're a bunch of neive little frigates pew pewing around having some fun. Our average Sp base is probubly in the 3-6M range, vastly lower than the major alliance's averages of 10-20+. With time comes SPs and experience: two things which separates major alliances from smaller alliances like RISE and GS. Mind you, GS have fought RISE and we all know what happened there...
2 - We enjoy what we do in our section of space because we're not "required" to adhere to anyone else's expectations. When people look to BoB, they expect deadly efficent killers who can crush anything that stands up to them. When they look to the Mercenary Coalition, they expect strictness, efficency and certain-success. If the Mercenary Coalition failed a contract, their reputation would take a hit.
3 - People have constantly made fun of Goons and have put them down. People have spoken of "respect" for us, when really there has been none from anyone. We grew up in the roughest of times, we lived in the roughest of times, and we will prosper in teh roughest of times. There have been few people to side with Goons because they're Goons. Some of our past allies aligned with us for common goals and agendas, but I am very proud to say we have allies not because of conveince or agendas: but because of who we are.
We're relentless, we're ruthless, we're Goons. We have had our ups and downs, just like every other major alliance. The difference between us and the other alliances: people naturally hate Goons. That's why, when we start rolling over other alliances and corporations, it will feel that much more rewarding.
As a note to everyone who has said "Goons will collapse", everything great has to come to an end someday: else what would be the point in building it?
